Flamengo thrashed Argentine side Vélez Sarsfield in their first-leg of the Copa Libertadores semi-final.

Pedro gave the visitors the lead after half an hour as a 25-year-old ghosted in at the back post and guided home Léo Pereira’s inswinging cross.

Summer singing Éverton Ribeiro doubled the lead on the stroke of halftime, finishing off a swift one-touch team move which culminated in Gabigol placing the ball on a plate for the former Benfica winger.
