Right-back Pedro Milans arrived in São Paulo in the early hours on Wednesday ahead of a move to Corinthians.
"Very happy to be arriving here. Now it is time to rest. I am very happy," he told Central do Timão. "Yes, it took quite a while, because I went to Curitiba and then came here. I am tired, now it is time to rest."
Corinthians accelerated the deal this week and the 23-year-old is expected to be confirmed once he completes medical tests.
He has featured for Uruguay at youth level and previously played for Juventud and Peñarol. For Peñarol he made 112 appearances with eight assists and three goals across the league, the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores, winning the Copa do Uruguai last year and the domestic league in 2024.
His spell at Peñarol ended after he agreed a contract termination, and the club have already said their farewell on social media. He is now in line to sign for Corinthians.
At Parque São Jorge he will compete with Matheuzinho for the right-back spot, with 19-year-old João Vitor Jacaré also in the squad. If confirmed, Milans would be Corinthians’ second signing for 2026, after centre-back Gabriel Paulista, with further deals being discussed including midfielder Matheus Pereira, who is already in São Paulo.
