Corinthians are unlikely to have striker Pedro Raul available for Sunday’s meeting with Cruzeiro at Neo Química Arena, 19:30 Brasília time, in the 23rd round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, after he suffered a rib trauma on Thursday in Argentina.

He was injured during the 0-0 draw with Rosario Central in the Conmebol Libertadores. After medical tests, he is expected to be rested from the league fixture, according to Meu Timão.

Without Pedro Raul, head coach Fernando Diniz has even fewer options in attack for Sunday. Available are Kaio César, Dieguinho, Jesse Lingard and Gui Negão. In theory, Gui Negão would be the immediate understudy to Pedro Raul, who is himself back-up to Yuri Alberto.

Yuri Alberto is recovering from a right thigh muscle injury. Memphis Depay’s contract has not been renewed by the club.

Labyad has sustained a meniscus injury and a rupture of the left knee ligament, making a return this season highly unlikely. Kayke is also out with a serious injury and is unavailable to Diniz.
