Pedro Henrique, the 18-year-old Paysandu midfielder, has rejected an offer from Flamengo and is prioritising a move to Europe. According to Coluna Do Fla, the club had targeted him for their academy.

He was unconvinced by the proposed career plan, with Flamengo intending to place him in the under-20s. The player prefers to continue in senior football, as he is doing with the Série C side.

Estrela Amadora and Braga have emerged as frontrunners and have already submitted bids. If Paysandu make negotiations difficult, both clubs are considering paying a release clause of R$ three million.

A product of Paysandu’s academy, Pedro Henrique made his first-team debut in last year’s Série B but could not help the club avoid relegation. In 2025 he played five times for the senior side, starting four.

In the current campaign he has nine appearances and two goals, and has already lifted the state title.

Flamengo have brought in six academy recruits this season, left-back Ramires (Mirassol), centre-back Muñoz (Portuguesa-SP), centre-forward Josmar (Avaí), midfielders Diego Reyes (América do México) and Juan Sayago (River Plate-ARG), and defensive midfielder Diego Queiroz (Botafogo). The first three featured in the Under-20 Libertadores runners-up campaign.
