Pedro ‘touted’ for Brazil recall after Fla-Flu brace

Pedro is being presented as a candidate for a Brazil call-up, AS reports.

The Flamengo striker struck twice in a 2-1 win over Fluminense at the Maracanã on Sunday in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

The report says he has re-emerged as a strong option for head coach Carlo Ancelotti. It adds that his profile differs from the style more recently used by the Seleção, which could aid his case.

It also names Igor Thiago and Igor Jesus among his rivals for the number nine role.

Pedro played at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar under Tite, featuring in two matches. Since then he has had further call-ups, but has not been a constant presence in the cycle towards the 2026 tournament.
