Lorenzo Pellegrini is the man of the moment at Roma.

The former Giallorossi captain, after experiencing arguably the darkest period of his playing career, has bounced back with performances and is now even hoping for a contract renewal.

His fate, in fact, seemed sealed: his contract expires in June 2026 and he’ll be sold to help the club raise funds, but that may not be the case.

According to Il Messaggero, since the arrival of Gian Piero Gasperini, the former Sassuolo player has returned to being the Lorenzo we appreciated in the year they won the Conference League, a player of both quantity and quality capable of leading his team to victory.

In addition to his performances, Pellegrini’s contribution in terms of bonuses is also not lacking: in the last two games against Rangers and Udinese, he’s scored two goals, proving that Pellegrini is one of Roma’s most in-form players at the moment.

The possibility of Pellegrini remaining in the capital seemed virtually zero, but the outcome could be unexpected. After a difficult period under Juric and Ranieri, the midfielder seemed destined for a future far from Rome.

Teams like Napoli and Inter have never hidden their interest, but there has never been any hesitation on his part: his desire has always been to stay, and even more so now that situation hasn’t changed. Pellegrini, in fact, is still hoping for a new contract, and under Gasperini’s guidance, anything is possible.
