After signing Celik, whom Roma were expecting at Trigoria to start the new season, Juventus has moved to convince Lorenzo Pellegrini, who has been a free agent since June 30th, to join Luciano Spalletti’s project.
The 1996-born player has yet to reach an agreement with the Giallorossi for a contract renewal, but he has no intention of betraying the team he has supported since childhood.
The number 7, after many seasons as a spectator, could return to play in the Champions League with Roma, an opportunity he is keen to seize.
Pellegrini is considering a renewal with Roma. As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the midfielder has rejected Juventus’ advances, declined their offer, and hopes to continue his career in the capital.
Il Messaggero adds that the number 7, despite more lucrative offers from Juventus and Besiktas, is continuing to negotiate a permanent stay with the club.
According to Corriere della Sera, the remaining issue remains the duration of the new contract. A final meeting between the parties is expected in the next few hours.
