Peñarol fans to gather at Gaviões da Fiel before Corinthians Libertadores clash | OneFootball

Peñarol supporters will use Gaviões da Fiel's headquarters as their meeting point before facing Corinthians at Neo Química Arena on Thursday. São Paulo state Military Police have approved the gathering.

The club said in a post that, after fresh meetings, the São Paulo Military Police had notified a change of rendezvous to the Corinthians organised supporters' base.

The meet is scheduled for 15h, with the visiting fans set to depart for the stadium at 17h. Kick-off is at 21h in the third round of the group stage.

It will not be the first time Gaviões have hosted travelling supporters at their base. In 2024, members of La 12, Boca Juniors' main organised group, visited while in São Paulo before heading to Belo Horizonte to face Cruzeiro in the Copa Sudamericana.

Thursday's tie will be the 11th meeting between the clubs. Corinthians have three wins, Peñarol have four, with three draws.

Their last encounter came in 2021, when Vagner Mancini's Corinthians were beaten 4-0 by Peñarol in the Copa Sudamericana group phase.
