Pep Guardiola has shot down speculation over his Manchester City future.

Reports this week suggested the Catalan is preparing to walk away from the Etihad Stadium at the end of this season, closing the door on a decade of regular success.

Chelsea counterpart Enzo Maresca was named as a forerunner to replace him, having previously worked as City's assistant in their treble-winning campaign of 2022/23.

But Guardiola insists that he is not currently formulating an exit strategy with 18 months still to run on his existing deal in east Manchester.

"The last three or four years every time someone asks me that question," said the City manager.

"Sooner of later, when I'm 75 or 76, I will quit City. I understand the question but I have 18 months left and I am so delighted.

"That question happens every single season and I'm ok."

He added: "There are no discussions - end of the subject. I will not be eternal here, none of us will, but there are no discussions.

"What is going to happen will happen and the club has to be prepared for everything.

"The club has to be prepared but that subject is not on the table."

City could temporarily leapfrog Premier League leaders Arsenal with a win at home to West Ham on Saturday.
