Pep Guardiola has started a period of rest after leaving Manchester City, following 13 consecutive seasons in the Champions League. According to L'Équipe, he will follow the competition from afar without fully switching off from football.
His final match in charge came on 24 May, a 1-2 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa.

He has done as promised, taking a proper holiday.
He spent successive summers preparing Bayern Munich, 2013-2016, then Manchester City, 2016-2026, with the next Champions League in mind.
Across the last 18 editions, he missed only one, 2012-2013, the season of his sabbatical between Barcelona, 2008-2012, and Munich.
