Pep Guardiola gives positive Rodri update, Man City duo still not ready for Nottingham Forest | OneFootball

Rodri could return for Manchester City at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with Pep Guardiola noting the midfielder’s condition has improved.

Nottingham Post reports that the Spain international’s previous campaign was ruined by an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and after returning late last season the 29-year-old has been hampered by hamstring problems this term.

He has made only four Premier League starts and has been out since the 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth on November two.

Guardiola said Rodri is much improved and that a decision on his availability would be made today, speaking to club media instead of holding the usual press conference.

He added that Jeremy Doku and John Stones are not yet ready, and said they will be back soon.

City’s players returned to training at the City Football Academy on Christmas evening to prepare for the Forest fixture.
