Pep Guardiola has stressed he is no longer driven by the idea of winning trophies, instead insisting his love of management is what keeps him going.

The Manchester City manager is approaching the final six months of his current contract and has previously acknowledged he is approaching the end of his reign at the Etihad Stadium, with many expecting his departure at the end of the current season.

While Guardiola has not yet committed to a decision publicly, the boss confessed ahead of Sunday's meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers that he is still madly in love with management, suggesting he is not thinking about a move away from City.

"I like my job, as I've said many times. I love what I do," Guardiola said.

Asked if he felt he had anything left to achieve at City, Guardiola added: "In terms of numbers or titles, it is already done, I would say a long time ago.

"But still I like coming here in the morning to work. I love it. I am thinking about Wolves and the messages I have to tell them [the players], the images I have to see, the training I have to prepare. Still I like it, and this is the main reason I am a manager. When I don't feel this - and not just at Man City - I will not be a manager and I will not even train. That's for sure."

Guardiola has acknowledged that he must make a decision on his future soon, so as to give City enough time to find a replacement if he chooses to walk away.

Goalkeeper Ederson recently told TNT Sports that he believes City have already identified their preferred heir to Guardiola's throne, with the club simply waiting to find out whether they need to make their move.
