The summer transfer window has closed, and despite widespread speculation, Real Madrid star Rodrygo did not move. The Brazilian had been linked to PSG throughout the window, but no deal materialized, and he is expected to stay in Madrid beyond the deadline.

Reports about PSG’s interest have been mixed. Foot Mercato’s Josué Cassé stated that Rodrygo is not currently a target for the French club, while Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg suggested both PSG and Liverpool are keeping tabs on the forward. Plettenberg also confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are not in the mix.

PSG could still emerge as a potential suitor, but whether Rodrygo leaves Real Madrid may hinge on how his situation develops in the coming months.

As reported by Estadiodeportivo, Manchester City are once again showing interest in Rodrygo, having already explored his signing last summer. Pep Guardiola has long admired the Brazilian and believes he would slot seamlessly into his attacking system.

Rodrygo’s ability to find space, operate between the lines, and link up in tight areas makes him an ideal option for a squad always looking to add quality. Guardiola also feels the Premier League could offer him the confidence and consistency that have been harder to find at Real Madrid.

Financially, the deal wouldn’t be an issue for City. The report claims that at Real Madrid, an offer of around €80 million would be enough to start negotiations. The club would only need to clear space in their attack, with Savinho reportedly the most likely candidate to move to accommodate Rodrygo’s arrival.
