Villarreal veteran Pepe Reina, 41, is unsure of where he will be playing his football next season. The Yellow Submarine have used Reina as a back-up for the past two years, but are yet to offer him a renewal.
Filip Jorgensen has been trusted as the number one this season, after chopping and changing between Reina and the Danish shot-stopper, but Reina has been relegated to the bench this year, playing the cup games. As per Relevo, Reina has no intention of retiring if Villarreal decide against extending his contract, something they intend to do so soon. He will look for a new club if that is the case. The experienced veteran is part of the core of the dressing room alongside Dani Parejo and Raul Albiol.
There has been some interest in Jorgensen already from abroad, with the 22-year-old putting in some stellar performances in a tough season, even if he has made the odd mistake. If Jorgensen does move on, even if they would likely bring in a replacement, they may choose to hold onto Reina in pursuit of stability.
