Pepe to testify in Insolvency Mafia case

The ‘Jornal de Notícias’ writes this Sunday that Pepe will be called to testify in the 'Bankruptcy Mafia' case, which this week led to ten arrests – including judicial administrators, businessmen, and a lawyer – on suspicion of diverting fortunes through bankruptcy fraud.

According to the newspaper, the situation involves a loan of 320 thousand euros granted by the former central defender and not repaid to a businessman friend who is among those arrested. As collateral, the former Portuguese international held a “mortgage on a luxurious villa in Oliveira de Azeméis, which is now suspected of being part of a scheme to conceal assets to defraud creditors.”
