Pepi restores lead within two minutes as visitors climb to third | OneFootball

In the fifth minute, Ruben van Bommel cut in from the left and finished to put the visitors ahead.

After the restart, Casper Widell equalised with a glancing header from an Irakli Yegoian cross (54.). Moments later, Ricardo Pepi tucked in Sergiño Dest's centre (56.) to restore the Boeren's advantage.

The Boeren carried the greater threat, posting 20 attempts with eight on target and seven corners. Excelsior managed five attempts, two on target, as Stijn van Gassel made six saves.

Peter Bosz's changes added impetus, with Kodai Sano and Amir Bouhamdi involved before Dennis Man drew late stops from van Gassel.

Five minutes of second half stoppage time were indicated, and the Boeren closed the game out.
