FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their plans for the new season. The Munich club have already reached an agreement in principle with Nathaniel Brown. Efforts are now also underway to find a solution with Eintracht Frankfurt. Coach Vincent Kompany is said to be particularly convinced of the 22-year-old’s qualities

Nathaniel Brown is one of FC Bayern’s hottest transfer candidates this summer. According to media reports, the Munich club has already agreed a transfer with the player. However, before the transfer can be finalized, Bayern still has to agree a transfer fee with Eintracht Frankfurt

The negotiations appear to be quite promising. While the Hessians are apparently hoping for a total package of up to 60 million euros, Bayern’s pain threshold is said to be around 50 million euros. The difference between the two clubs is therefore considered manageable

Brown is highly regarded internally at the German record champions, with Vincent Kompany in particular said to have campaigned hard to sign the versatile defensive player

Brown is an ideal fit for Kompany’s style of play

The Bayern coach clearly sees Brown as a player who fits in perfectly with his tactical philosophy. The left-back has exactly the attributes that Kompany’s system of play requires

Thanks to his great speed, Brown is ideally suited to playing in a team that operates with a far advanced defensive line, and his dynamism can help to defuse dangerous transition situations for the opposition, especially when the ball is lost

But it’s not just his athleticism that makes the Frankfurt player interesting for Bayern: according to Sky, Kompany particularly appreciates the German international’s enormous flexibility

This versatility could play a decisive role in the coming season in view of a rather lean squad

Particularly interesting: Kompany wanted to sign Brown when he was still head coach at Burnley FC

Versatility as a big plus

Brown is generally at home on the left flank, but can do much more than just play in the classic left-back role. In addition to playing in the back four, he can also operate as an attacking winger on the left flank

Those in charge even believe he can play on the right side of defense, and Brown could even be an alternative in the center if necessary

It is precisely this flexibility that makes him so interesting for Kompany. The Bayern squad already has several players who can be deployed in different positions. Konrad Laimer can be deployed flexibly in both defence and midfield, while Josip Stanisic can play in all positions in defence

Alphonso Davies could also benefit from Brown’s signing, as the two could play together on the left flank and add dynamism to Bayern’s play

In addition to his versatility, Brown’s technical abilities also speak in favor of a move to Munich, according to those responsible. The 22-year-old is considered a strong player, can hold his own under pressure from opponents and has the necessary composure on the ball to find solutions in tight situations

All of these qualities make him an extremely interesting overall package from Bayern’s point of view. Munich’s interest in successfully concluding negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt remains correspondingly high. Should an agreement be reached, Brown could become one of the most important building blocks in Kompany’s squad planning for the coming season.
