Pernille Harder explains her role in attack | OneFootball

Pernille Harder is a five-time Bundesliga champion, three-time English Women’s Super League winner, a Euros runner-up with Denmark and has earned many more team and individual titles. She currently tops the scoring chart in the UEFA Women’s Champions League going into the knockout stage with six goals. The 32-year-old has also struck eight times in the Bundesliga. How does she go about her role on the pitch? The Dane explains all about her position on FC Bayern TV PLUS.

Harder: “Make sure we create chances out of possession”

“In my position it’s about finding space in the attacking third. I need to make sure we create chances out of our possession,” the Denmark captain said. “I scan my surroundings a lot so I always know where my opponents are and where the ball needs to go next.” So, what’s needed as a striker? “You need to have good technique and be able to move in tight spaces. But you also need tactical understanding to always have a plan of where you position yourself.”

Pernille Harder explains how she uses training to prepare for matches.

Harder is currently on international duty with her country before returning to Munich for a decisive spell across all three competitions. March includes big Bundesliga games against Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, plus the Champions League quarter-final tie against Lyon and a DFB Cup semi-final against Hoffenheim. Harder’s abilities in her position will absolutely be needed again.
