Perry Ng delivers Cardiff City verdict on Kieffer Moore amid previous Wolves links | OneFootball

Cardiff City wing-back Perry Ng has admitted the club is a ‘special place’ to be when he’s in training with teammate Kieffer Moore, speaking to his side’s media team ahead of their weekend clash against Preston North End.

The 29-year-old Welshman has scored three times in new manager Steve Morison’s opening three games in charge, grabbing a vital equaliser in his first match at Stoke City and scoring a second-half brace against Huddersfield Town to seal all three points for the Bluebirds.

These goals will be a major relief to Moore who struggled to build on his 20-goal tally from last season in the early stages of this term under Mick McCarthy, registering just one goal in his opening 14 league matches as he looked an isolated figure up top.

This poor spell of form is firmly behind him though, even managing to get on the scoresheet against Belgium on Tuesday evening as Wales secured an impressive 1-1 draw despite their status as underdogs.

And the striker’s quality hasn’t gone unnoticed either, with Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers launching a £7m bid on deadline day (21:35) in an attempt to lure him to Molineux.

That was knocked back with the second-tier side valuing one of their most prized assets at £12m – and it’s currently unclear whether Bruno Lage’s side or another team will come back in with another sizeable offer.

Cardiff teammate Ng spoke out about Moore after seeing him equalise against Belgium in midweek, saying: “What a player he is.

“It’s a special place to be when I’m training with him every day, even if he’s a nightmare to mark!

“He’s very good on the ball, and he’s certainly a player that we can use to score a lot more goals, when he’s so good with the ball at his feet as well as his heading ability.

“He’s a great character and works so hard, he’s got a bit of everything.”

Moore is getting back to his best and this is because there’s a new manager in charge.

The early stages of the season under ex-boss McCarthy were particularly detrimental to him, looking very isolated up front in a system that was far too focused on defending at times.

Spending some of his time on the bench too, he was unable to get himself into any sort of rhythm in a side that looked already devoid of ideas, making it impossible for him to reach the performance levels he was able to last term.

He has also suffered from losing former loanee Harry Wilson and his creativity, but with Morison now at the helm, he will be hoping to make up for lost time on the bench and establish himself as the Championship outfit’s most important asset once again.

If he can, there will be plenty of interest in his signature once again and considering the lack of money there is to spend at the Cardiff City Stadium, he may just get his Premier League move within the next 12 months to raise funds.

His early form under Morison is only one step forward though, now is the time for him to show consistency and build on the momentum he’s gained in the past couple of weeks.
