Before the start of the new Greens training camp, Vladimir Petkovic took the time to clarify his philosophy. The Algerian head coach emphasized that his project is built for the long haul, with a clear vision and bold choices focused on the future. Petkovic stressed the importance of continuity and the gradual building of the Greens’ project.

"We’ve come back over the past few weeks with the desire to do things well and work hard. Everything that has happened up to now is not a finishing point, but a starting one," he explained.

For the coach, every call-up reflects a long-term vision:

"I have very clear ideas. The call-ups demonstrate a vision for the future. There are no exclusions, only decisions that fit into an overall plan, because football moves very fast."

The former Switzerland coach wants to lay strong foundations:

"I’m working in the short term with a long-term vision. I’d also like that, if I leave, those who come after me benefit from the work I’ve done."

With this in mind, he insists: "I’m thinking more about those arriving today to improve tomorrow, not about yesterday. I see the glass as half full rather than half empty."
