FLW's Norwich City fan pundit has told the club what one area they must prioritise in the January market
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
Norwich City have confirmed the appointment of Philippe Clement as the permanent replacement to Liam Manning after his dismissal earlier this month.
The Canaries will be hoping the 51-year-old can guide the team back up the Championship table in the coming weeks, with the club at risk of being mired in a relegation battle otherwise.
The Norfolk outfit will also have one eye on the January transfer window already, and discussing potential targets will surely have been a key part of the managerial appointment process.
Norwich made a number of signings in the summer, but have gone backwards, putting pressure on sporting director Ben Knapper.
The winter market could prove key to turning around their campaign, and getting out of the bottom three.

When asked what the first priority should be for the club in January, FLW’s Norwich fan pundit Zeke Downes claimed that a new creative outlet is needed.
He cited the likes of Oscar Schwartau, Emi Marcondes, Amankwah Forson, Papa Amadou Diallo and others as players that could all be improved upon in order to help get the best out of Josh Sargent and their other forward options.
“I’d say first priority in the January window would be a creative midfielder,” Downes told Football League World.
“We have enough in the squad in terms of numbers, like we’ve got Schwartau, [Ante] Crnac, [Matej] Jurasek, Marcondes and Forson, and Diallo and Chris Gordon, although he’s more of a striker, and Makama.
“But, none of them have quite worked yet.
“I think Marcondes and Crnac, they were pretty decent last season, Crnac is obviously now injured until the end of the season, he’s not up for contention.
“Jurasek needs to prove himself a lot more, as does Forson and Schwartau.
“So, really, we need a winger, I think, that is proven and can come straight in and make a difference, and create chances for our strikers.
“I think that’s probably the biggest issue at this point.”
Norwich have struggled for form so far this season, with the team currently 23rd in the Championship table.
Manning oversaw just two wins from his 15 league games in charge, and his side lost every single one of their home fixtures.
Clement will be tasked with immediately turning around that form, particularly the lack of results at Carrow Road, with the club in desperate need of a change in atmosphere surrounding the squad.
The former Rangers boss’ first game will come on 22 November with a trip to face Birmingham City in a 3pm kick-off.

Sargent is obviously a huge asset for the next Norwich manager, but getting the best out of him will require creative outlets that can feed him good chances.
The team’s lack of goals has been a big problem so far this season, scoring just 10 from their opening 15 games.
Focusing on someone that can help alleviate that problem will be important in the January market, and will surely be a top priority for whoever is manager.
