Ipswich Town beat Stoke City 1-0 at Portman Road to rise from fifth to fourth in the Championship.

In the second minute, Jaden Philogene bent a right-footed strike from outside the box into the top right corner after Marcelino Núñez's pass.

The Tractor Boys carried the greater threat, with 16 attempts and six on target. Viktor Johansson kept Stoke City in it with five saves, including smart stops either side of the break.

After a triple change (75.), Jack Clarke injected pace down the left and teed up Núñez for another effort that Johansson saved (83.). In the third minute of second half stoppage time, Sorba Thomas shot wide following a corner as Stoke City searched for a leveller.

The Tractor Boys finished with 43.3% of the ball and sustained pressure through the flanks. Stoke City registered six attempts, one on target, while enjoying 56.7% possession.
