Arsenal have had a frustrating time with injuries during the ongoing campaign.

The club have had to cope with the absence of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus over recent weeks.

They have suffered another setback with Gabriel Martinelli ruled out for around a month.

The Gunners are short in the attacking department but have no such concerns on the defensive side. Ben White could make the matchday squad after the warm-weather break in Dubai.

White has not featured since early November due to knee surgery, but manager Mikel Arteta recently confirmed that the right-back could return to first-team action for the Leicester City game.

The 27-year-old has now been spotted training with the team, which is a huge boost.

White, described as ‘really special‘ by Arteta, has been a key part of Arsenal’s plans over recent years.

He has had a terrific chemistry with Saka on the right flank, but the winger won’t be available until March at least.

Despite this, the manager will be pleased with his comeback. Jurrien Timber has been brilliant as a deputy and has performed above expectations after a lengthy knee injury lay-off.

However, the Dutchman’s workload could be reduced over the coming weeks with the reintroduction of White, who is better accustomed to operating as an inverted right-back.

Timber has been a willing runner from the right side of defence but does not possess the same attacking attributes as White, who times his overlapping runs with better precision.

White could be eased back into action after the winter break. The £46 million-rated star could make a few appearances off the bench before getting the nod in the starting line-up.
