Bailey Cadmarteri's father, Danny, has posted a photo alongside the Sheffield Wednesday striker at an airport amid reported interest from Hibernian.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters have had a lot to say after Danny Cadamarteri uploaded a photo on X on Sunday morning showing he was at an airport with his son and Owls striker Bailey.

The Wednesday forward has been subject to reported transfer interest from Scottish Premiership outfit Hibernian, who drew 1-1 with Motherwell on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Cadamarteri played for 77 minutes as the Owls were beaten 2-0 by Premier League side Brentford in their FA Cup third round clash at Hillsborough.

The 20-year-old has scored two goals across all competitions this term, while the South Yorkshire outfit remain rooted to the bottom of the Championship table amid their ongoing period in administration.

Henrik Pedersen's men face Portsmouth in their next second-tier encounter, while their only league win this term came against Pompey back in September.

Meanwhile, Hibernian have unsuccessfully bid for Cadamarteri, as Wednesday vie to avoid further player exits in the January transfer window.

The Hillsborough outfit endured a difficult summer, with former star players such as Michael Smith and Djeidi Gassama leaving South Yorkshire amid the chaos caused by ex-chairman Dejphon Chansiri.

Meanwhile, both Owls and Hibernian supporters have been vocal after Danny Cadamarteri posted a photo via X alongside his potentially Edinburgh-bound son.

One supporter of the Scottish outfit commented: "Tell your lad to come to Hibs. He will be well looked after and will kick on. He will love it."

Contrastingly, a Wednesday fan said: "I honestly hope this is tongue-in-cheek stuff. We need Bailey, and could do with you on the development side if it was an option at SWFC under new ownership. For all my wishes, you do right by your boy, whatever form that takes."

Another member of the Owls faithful commented: "Attention seeker. Not a good look at this."

That sentiment was shared by one fan who said: "Hey, Danny. Please remember the Owls fanbase is broken when teasing at potential change. I’m sure some have said bad things, but they are a tiny minority. Most love Bailey and want him to stay long term."

Bailey Cadamarteri exit would be another painful blow for Sheffield Wednesday

Wednesday supporters are clearly worried by the photo displaying Cadamarteri alongside his father at an airport, amid interest from Hibs.

Meanwhile, Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers also want to sign Cadamarteri, as the Lancashire club look to strengthen their attacking options.

The Jamaica international has not been prolific this season, but at 20-years-old, he still boasts plenty of potential, and could be an asset for the Owls in League One next season.

Cadamarteri notched five goals in the third tier while on loan with Lincoln City last season, and could be a key figure in Wednesday's rebuild once new owners arrive at Hillsborough.

Therefore, losing the starlet would be a major blow for Wednesday, who have already had to cope with the losses of former boss Danny Rohl, and ex-forward Josh Windass, who is performing well for Wrexham.
