Paolo Vanoli has already arrived at Fiorentina’s training centre and is ready to sign his contract to replace Fabio Grosso as the Viola coach.

Vanoli is ready to start his second stint as Fiorentina’s coach, returning to the Stadio Franchi just three months after his departure.

Fiorentina confirmed Grosso’s sacking last night after the 2006 Italy World Cup winner lost all the opening three Serie A games of the season.

Fiorentina decided against extending Vanoli’s contract in June and instead appointed Grosso, but disappointing results in the early stages of the campaign and disagreements with director Fabio Paratici convinced the club to sack the ex-defender and bring their former coach back.
