Pierce Charles has opened up on his Sheffield Wednesday future amid links to Celtic, Rangers and Man City
Sheffield Wednesday are set for a busy few months ahead as they look to rebuild the first team squad.
Arise Capital completed their takeover of the Owls in early May, ending the club’s months-long stint in administration.
It was a difficult campaign both on and off the pitch for the Yorkshire outfit, who finished bottom of the Championship table under Henrik Pedersen.
The Dane will now be hoping that he can reshape the team for next season under the new owners, with major changes already taking place behind the scenes.
David Bruce has been installed as the new CEO, with a new era underway at Hillsborough.
However, holding onto some of their top talent, such as Pierce Charles, will also be a major part of their summer, with the transfer window opening on 15 June.

Charles has made it clear that his current focus is not on his Sheffield Wednesday future amid speculation that he could depart the club following the end of the campaign.
The goalkeeper has claimed we’ll have to wait and see what happens, with teams circling around him after his impressive performances in the Championship.
“I’m not really focusing on that,” said Charles, via the Belfast Telegraph.
“After the ten days in [Northern Ireland] camp working I’ll focus on resting and enjoying my summer.
“You never know what might happen.
“We’ll see what happens when it comes to it.”
Manchester City were the latest club linked with a possible move for Charles, as they look to bring him back to the club to bolster their goalkeeper options.
The Sheffield Wednesday shot-stopper came through the Premier League side’s academy system before moving to Hillsborough, meaning he could take up a valuable home grown player slot in their squad list.
But Celtic and Rangers are both reported to be interested in the 20-year-old as well, where he could compete for a starting spot next season.
It has also been claimed that the Owls have offered Charles a new contract, with the club not giving up hope that they can retain the goalkeeper.
However, no agreement has yet been reached, meaning there is still plenty of uncertainty over the next step in his career.
The goalkeeper’s current deal is set to expire in June 2027, leaving Sheffield Wednesday with the dilemma of cashing in this summer, or letting him potentially leave next year as a free agent.
Charles made 19 appearances in the Championship this season, conceding 37 times and keeping two clean sheets.
Injuries hampered his availability throughout the term, and it is highly likely he would be first-choice under Pedersen in League One next season should he still be at the club.

Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a number of young goalkeepers amid the uncertainty over Charles’ future, such as Matty Young at Sunderland.
But keeping Charles would surely be their preference at this stage, so renewing his contract will be a big priority for the new owners.
The opportunity to return to Man City would likely mean sitting on the bench, so it may not be too appealing right now, but Celtic and Rangers could offer first team football at a top flight level, with European football also available.
So Sheffield Wednesday are stuck waiting for a resolution to this dilemma before they can move on with any transfer plans involving Young, or any other goalkeeper targets.
