Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaves Marseille for Deportivo La Coruña on deal to 2028

Deportivo La Coruña have signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Olympique de Marseille on a contract to 2028 for about €1.5m, the club confirmed on Friday.

The 37-year-old striker returns to Spain after a six-month stint at Barcelona at the end of 2021-2022, when he played 24 matches and scored 13 goals.

He arrives following a second spell with Marseille, having also featured there in 2022-2023. The Gabon international has 86 caps and 40 goals.

This move takes him to the 12th club of his career. He favoured Spain over Türkiye and Corum.

The Galician side have been promoted to La Liga, returning to the top flight eight years after they left it. They had only climbed back to the second tier two years ago.
