Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starts for Gabon against Mozambique at 13:30 on Sunday in the second round of group F. According to L'Équipe, the Olympique de Marseille forward was only a substitute for the opener.

Gabon were beaten 1-0 by Cameroon in their first match. The 36-year-old has 82 caps and 39 goals. He had been managing a thigh problem from OM’s 1-0 game with Monaco before the break, which kept him out of the starting XI.

He still came on around the half-hour mark, two days after linking up with the squad in Morocco. This is his first start of the tournament.

The fixture already feels pivotal to Gabon’s prospects before a final group meeting with Côte d'Ivoire.

Mario Lemina, of Galatasaray, also starts and is expected to line up in defence. He too was a substitute against Cameroon and entered around the half-hour.
