After two defeats in his first two competitive outings as Crystal Palace boss, Pierre Sage may already be coming under some pressure at Selhurst Park, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
It has been a far-from-ideal start to life in South London for Sage. The Frenchman, after leading RC Lens to the Coupe de France title and a second-place finish in Ligue 1, decided to leave the club at the end of the season. Crystal Palace, in the market for a replacement for Oliver Glasner, opted for the former Olympique Lyonnais manager.
However, his side have been comprehensively beaten in their first two Premier League games. They have lost to Everton and Manchester City and are one of five teams on 0 points; Palace also have the joint-worst goal difference (-5) in the division. Tavolieri understands that Sage is already coming under pressure and this, he adds, was part of the reason why Malick Fofana opted to join Sunderland over Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day.
