Pierre Sage ‘to leave’ Lens after historic season

Pierre Sage will leave Lens after a single season in charge.

According to RMC Sport, the 47-year-old has informed the club hierarchy that he will depart.

His team won the club’s first Coupe de France, beating Nice 3-1 in the final, and finished runners-up behind PSG to secure a Champions League return.

Sage made his name at Lyon between November 2023 and January 2025. This season he recorded 28 wins, four draws and eight defeats.

Named Ligue 1 coach of the year at the UNFP awards, he has attracted significant interest. Crystal Palace could be among the clubs considering him.
