Inter midfielder Piotr Zielinski has revealed that the side has regrets about their incredible 4-4 draw against Juventus in the Serie A.
For a while, it seemed as if Inter were going to pick up all three points. They were 4-2 up, courtesy of goals from Zielinski (brace), Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Denzel Dumfries. Dusan Vlahovic and Timothy Weah had scored for Juventus until young Kenan Yildiz came on and grabbed a brace to make it 4-4.
Inter had a fair share of chances to make it 5-2 but they missed those attempts. Zielinski spoke to Sky after the game and revealed regret.
He said, as relayed by TMW: ““Certainly, there is regret for this result, we could have closed it by scoring the fifth goal. We didn’t succeed and then Juventus was good at making the moves for the third and fourth goals.”
He was also asked about why Inter are conceding so many goals and why it is different from how things were last season.
He said: “It is noticeable, yes. They come out too easily at times, with a pass they find open spaces to come forward. It is something that needs to be improved because last year Inter did not allow these things.”
Zielinski also revealed that he was taken off in the game because he was tired and hasn’t picked up any injury, which should come as good news to Inter.
