Piqué calls locals to shovel snow and save Andorra v Cultural | OneFootball

Gerard Piqué, owner and president of Segunda side Andorra, appealed for locals to help clear 28 centimetres of snow so their match with Cultural Leonesa could be played, according to El Correo.

The former Barcelona centre-back joined club staff on Saturday morning to help shovel the pitch. In a social media video, he urged residents to bring shovels and insisted they were set to play at 16.15 against Cultural Leonesa.

Amid severe weather, LaLiga asked the RFEF’s Competitions Judge to postpone the fixture, part of matchday 21 in LaLiga Hypermotion. Initially set for 16.15 at the Nou Estadi de la FAF, kick-off was moved to 18.30.

Shortly after 17.00, the club confirmed the game would go ahead and that entry was free.

The match finished 1-1. Cultural, coached by Ziganda, now look to Tuesday’s Copa del Rey round of 16 tie with Athletic.
