Uruguay faced England in London on Friday in a World Cup warm-up. Palmeiras full-back Joaquin Piquerez started but went off injured after 10 minutes.
He twisted his right ankle in a move with Madueke and was replaced. The club said in a Friday night statement that he suffered a right-ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in the coming days after returning to Brazil.
Emiliano Martínez, another Palmeiras player called up, was named among the substitutes.
He is vying for a place at the World Cup scheduled for mid 2026.
Palmeiras next play Grêmio on 02/04, Thursday, at 21h30 Brasília time, in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
