Leeds United ended the window with one arrival, Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. Brenden Aaronson is in form, so the newcomer has so far made only late cameos.
Leeds Live notes that Jorgen Strand Larsen was the sole striker target, with alternatives unaffordable. A keeper was not pursued despite Daniel Farke’s weekend hints, the left-footed back-up left-back issue remained, and PSR limits meant any Larsen deal still needed funds offset by 30 June.
Lukas Nmecha avoids being pushed further down the queue, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin still first choice. His early-season form has dipped, not helped by bench time and hamstring issues, but he retains his role for now.
Lucas Perri also benefits. With Karl Darlow number one and Perri number two, there remains a route back. A January arrival would likely have narrowed that path.
Harry Gray has kicked on at Rotherham United, making his first senior start and scoring twice within days. He is handling third-tier football at 17.
Joel Piroe stays a Premier League player after rejecting interest, keeping alive the chance of a revival. Yet Leeds still wanted another striker, and he sits behind Noah Okafor and, at times, Aaronson. He could go a year scoring in only one match, the four against Stoke City last April.
Daniel Farke is left with boxes unticked, favouring a striker addition, yet the squad remains trim. Charlie Crew saw his Doncaster Rovers loan cut short with no new move, so under-21s football continues and senior minutes look unlikely for the 19-year-old.
