Roma also won in Cremona and, capitalizing on Milan’s derby victory, moved into sole first place in the league.
The Giallorossi showed character, as they scored more than two goals for the first time this season without the injured Hermoso, Bailey, Dybala, and Dovbyk: Soulé, Ferguson, and Wesley were key players in the 3-1 win over Cremonese.
One player who would appreciate more playing time with the Giallorossi is Niccolò Pisilli.
The Giallorossi midfielder gave an interview to Cronache di Spogliatoio and spoke about his coach.
“Gasperini has a gift: he’s good at conveying the ideas he believes in. The more a player senses this, the more seriously he takes you. He believes blindly in what he does. You can sense it. He’s obsessive.”
Pisilli then went on to highlight the career of the Grugliasco-born coach, who in nine years at Atalanta completely transformed the club into a European powerhouse capable of consistently competing in the Champions League.
The Giallorossi number 61 also highlighted the character and mentality of the former Atalanta coach: “Gasperini changed the history of a club, and now he’s doing something very important with us. As soon as he arrived, he instilled a winning mentality in us.”
“He shows us that if we follow his lead, results will come. I know I’ve had little time, but he always tells us that he leaves no one behind. For me, it’s a great opportunity to improve.”
