Miralem Pjanic has discussed Juventus’s chances of winning the Scudetto this season and believes the Bianconeri are not yet at the required level.
Juventus did what it could during the transfer window and hopes its new signings will meet expectations during the campaign. However, the club is always expected to challenge for the league title because it is the biggest team in Italian football.
That expectation remains despite Juventus not currently performing at its best. The squad contains several outstanding players, and supporters expect them to lead the team towards success.
This season represents another opportunity for Juventus to achieve domestic success, having last won the league in 2020. Pjanic, however, does not believe the Bianconeri should yet be discussing the title.
Pjanic urges Juventus to rebuild
Juventus must first establish a stronger foundation before targeting the Scudetto. The club has invested in its squad, but the current team remains a work in progress and needs time to develop under its new manager.
Pjanic believes other clubs are better prepared to challenge for the title. Speaking via Football Italia, he said:
“I think it’s early to talk about the Scudetto. If you look at last season you can’t start with that ambition. Inter are favourites for the squad, then there are Napoli and Roma.
“The primary objective has to be rebuilding, but quickly, because at Juve you always want to win. You can talk about getting back into the Champions League, that would be the right thing.”

Pjanic’s comments suggest that Juventus should focus on returning to the Champions League before setting its sights on the Scudetto. Qualifying for Europe’s leading club competition would provide the progress the Bianconeri need.
The former Juventus midfielder still recognises the club’s ambition and understands that winning remains part of its identity. However, he believes a rapid rebuilding process must come before the team can realistically challenge Inter, Napoli and Roma.
Juventus will therefore need to improve its consistency and give its new players time to settle. If the squad develops as expected, the club may become a stronger title contender in the future, but Pjanic believes the Scudetto is not yet a realistic objective this season.
