Nuno Espirito Santo sent a strong message on & off the pitch after the 1-1 draw at Everton.

Nuno’s Hammers produced a spirited and hard-fought performance to come back from behind to grab a point that could well have been all 3, against a well drilled and also impressive David Moyes Toffees side.

West Ham rediscovered a level of fight and grit that has been missing for a long time in east London, which saw some excellent displays from the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Max Kilman and Malick Diouf, with captain Jarrod Bowen grabbing the well earned leveller.

Speaking after the game, Nuno sent a strong message and one that made it clear that his West Ham side will be one that is expected to be a tough nut to crack in the weeks and months ahead.

“The message was simple: ‘Let’s compete, every ball is important. Let’s be pragmatic when we have to be pragmatic and let’s take advantage of what we have up front’, but the work-rate overall of the team was good,” Nuno told the clubs Official Website.

“I think in the second half we came out on the front foot, the desire was there. So, it was a good reaction.

“Everyone has pulled together and that’s what we want, to create a platform of unity, of knowledge among us so we can help the players.”
