The left-back claimed a third of the votes in the Mainova Player of the Month poll to finish ahead of Ritsu Doan, Ansgar Knauff and Rasmus Kristensen.

Nathaniel Brown rounded out 2025 with an assist in the 1-1 draw against promoted side Hamburger SV, showing the same combination of technique and timing as he had done 11 days earlier to set up Ansgar Knauff for the opening goal at Camp Nou in the UEFA Champions League.

While Brown underlines his quality on the ball week after week, his defensive work is equally impressive. In that Champions League trip to Barcelona, he kept Lamine Yamal quiet for most of the match.

“Nene has taken an unbelievable step forward over the last four or five months, especially when you see how he’s defended against these top players in the Champions League,” said Markus Krösche. “He’s always had quality on the ball. He’s a very intelligent player who’s learned how to defend. I say ‘learned’ there deliberately because he was already able to defend but he’s improved in that regard at the highest level. It’s extraordinary.”

It is hardly insignificant, then, that Brown has contributed a team-high 11 assists in 55 competitive appearances since the start of the 2024/25 season. And now, 33 percent of Eintracht fans have voted to deservedly crown Brown as the Mainova Player of the Month, ahead of Ritsu Doan (20 percent), Knauff (12 percent) and Rasmus Kristensen (11 percent).
