With the World Cup break imminent, Inter Miami sent off its fans in a big way, surviving a 10-goal thriller, beating the Philadelphia Union at home 6-4.

After the team’s first win at home against the Portland Timbers a week ago, the Men in Pink looked to continue that good run of form against a struggling Philadelphia Union team.

Unfortunately, what looked like an easy win started on the wrong foot, with the Union getting two early goals in the 4th and 10th minutes.

Miami would come back through German Berterame just three minutes later, but the Union would nab another goal just seven minutes later.

The Herons would climb back into the match with two goals by Luis Suarez and Berterame, but the Union would equalize just before halftime.

In the second half, fortunately, the Herons were able to nullify much of what was giving them trouble and limited the Union offensively.

Miami would go on to score two more goals, Suarez completing his hat-trick, and Rodrigo De Paul scoring on his birthday, to seal all three points for Miami.

Here are Player Ratings from Miami’s crazy 6-4 win over the Union.

Goalkeeping/Defense:

Goalkeeping/Defense:

Dayne St. Clair - 6.5: Had some solid saves throughout the match, which could get overlooked, but he did also let in four goals. Admittedly, some of those were on his defense, but ultimately, he’s held responsible.

Sergio Reguilon-  7: Was solid. Didn’t really do too much to stand out.

Micael - 6.4: Much like St. Clair, Micael alongside his center back partner Lujan, let in four goals, which, against this relatively poor Union side, isn't really acceptable.

Gonzalo Lujan - 6.3: Didn’t keep a clean sheet! While he may have covered a lot of ground tonight alongside Micael, leaking goals as a center back duo is not great!

Ian Fray -  7: Always appreciate his hustle and ability to get inside the head of his opponent, haha. The Academy product did that and then some this game.

Midfield

Telasco Segovia - 7.2: While not the most impactful match from the youngster, his chemistry with De Paul and Bright continues to grow. However, I do wonder what will happen if a certain report comes to fruition.

Rodrigo De Paul - 8.2: Happy Birthday! Probably one of the better players on the field this match.

Yannick Bright - 7.8: Once again, another solid match for the Italian. As I stated under the Segovia blurb, I do wonder which one out of the three will be dropped if (when, really…) Casemiro comes in.

Attack

Luis Suarez - 9: Got a well-deserved hat trick! His chemistry with Berterame has been a joy to watch.

Lionel Messi - 8.9: Two assists on the night, but unfortunately had to leave the game early due to injury. Don’t think it’ll be anything serious, though!

German Berterame - 8.6: When I wrote my piece on Berterame earlier in the season, I did urge Inter Miami fans to remain patient and insisted that a player of his caliber just needed time to settle in. Well, he’s shown that and then some. A brace right before the World Cup break is a perfect way to head into this summer.

Substitutes

Facundo Mura - 6.3: Love his tenacity on both sides of the ball! Perfect player to come off the bench and give the team some energy.

David Ayala - 6: While I appreciate his game, I do wish he got longer stints in midfield so he could fully get into a rhythm!

Matteo Silvetti - 7.8: Came on, got an assist, doesn’t elaborate.

Noah Allen - N/A: Didn’t play long to receive a rating.

David Ruiz - N/A: Didn’t play long enough to receive a rating.
