Plunge down the table! São Paulo drop out of Brasileirão top four

The 17th round of the Brasileirão only came to an end on Monday night (25), with the clash between Coritiba and Bahia at Couto Pereira Stadium, in Paraná. And the result dropped São Paulo another spot in the standings.

With the Paraná side’s 3-2 win over Rogério Ceni’s team, Coxa reached 26 points and snatched 6th place from Tricolor, which had already fallen out of the Brazilian Championship’s top four this round after drawing 1-1 with Botafogo and seeing Athletico-PR and Bragantino overtake them in the table. If they fail to beat Remo in the last round before the World Cup break, they could slip even further.
