Plymouth got off to an electric start as Lorent Tolaj opened the scoring after just six minutes, latching onto a through ball, breaking the defensive line, and stroking a delightful strike past Nathan Bishop.

However, Wimbledon were never out of the contest, and levelled on the stroke of half-time with an excellently worked goal, as Myles Hippolyte dug out an inch perfect cross, which was met by the head of talisman Omar Bugiel.

The Dons struck early in the second half, netting what would prove to be the winning goal. Bradley Ibrahim's mistake was gobbled up by Jake Reeves, who crossed to Marcus Browne and turned home, sending the travelling Wombles home happy.

Argyle were quick out of the blocks, scoring inside ten minutes.

Star man Tolaj was played clean through on goal via a perfectly weighted through ball from Bradley Ibrahim. The number nine made no mistake with the finish, drilling it past a helpless Bishop.

Wimbledon responded well and gave Conor Hazard some problems through set-pieces. A corner and free-kick came agonisingly close to drawing the game level, but the hosts held on through the period of pressure.

Other than that, the first half was a bitty contest, with neither side able to string together a sequence of passes, which led to little being created at each end of the pitch.

On the stroke of half-time, Malachi Boateng came up with a goal-saving intervention on the line. Steve Seddon's deflected cross looked destined to find Alistar Smith at the far post, until the former Hearts midfielder swept in to deny a certain goal.

It wouldn't matter though, as the Wombles drew level just minutes later. A great ball from Hippolyte was attacked by Bugiel, who bullied Mathias Ross out of the way to head past Hazard.

The teams would go in level at half-time after a fairly even half. The scores being level after 45 minutes was certainly a fair reflection of the contest as a whole.

Seven minutes after the restart, Wimbledon had the lead, and it was another goal that came from some great wing play. Skipper Reeves picked up the ball after an Ibrahim mistake deep in Argyle territory, drove to the byline and crossed to Browne, who slid it home from close range to turn the game on it's head.

Tolaj was denied an equaliser with 20 minutes to go thanks to a stunning save by Bishop. A deep cross found the Swiss striker arriving at the far post, but his first-time effort was denied by the outstretched foot of the former Manchester United stopper.

That would be the last chance of the game, as Johnnie Jackson's side dug in to take all three points back to the capital. A great comeback win for the Wombles, who rose to fourth in League One.
