Plymouth Argyle have three attackers who have scored 10 or more goals this season, amid their League One play-off push

Plymouth Argyle kept their League One play-off bid alive by beating Barnsley 3-0 at Oakwell on Easter Monday, and the Devon club's promotion fate will help determine their summer transfer activity.

The Pilgrims were beaten 2-1 by Bolton Wanderers on Good Friday, but their top six chances are very much intact, thanks to their subsequent success in South Yorkshire.

Tom Cleverley's men have an intriguing mixture of fixtures in their five remaining games, which start with a Devon Derby clash with Exeter City this Saturday.

Following their meeting with the Grecians, Argyle face Wimbledon, Bradford City, Port Vale, and Northampton Town.

Vale and Northampton are likely to be relegated to League Two, whereas the Dons still have some work to do to achieve survival, and the Bantams are set to finish in the top six.

Defeating potential play-off opponents Bradford on 21 April would be a particularly strong statement from Argyle, provided they earn positive results against Exeter and Wimbledon first.

Plymouth Argyle have been blessed with attacking talent this season

In the first half of the season, Plymouth were relegation candidates, but since the turn of the year, Cleverley's side have been on stellar form, and now have a genuine opportunity to break into the play-offs and seal an immediate Championship return.

The driving force behind their resurgent form is the fact that only already-promoted Lincoln City and second-place Cardiff City have scored more goals than the Pilgrims this term.

Former Port Vale man Lorent Tolaj has been Argyle's most prolific attacker this term, notching 18 goals and five assists across all competitions, while both Bim Pepple and Owen Oseni also deserve plenty of credit for their respective efforts.

Pepple has scored 15 goals in all competitions this season, while Oseni has 10 to his name, so Cleverley has three strikers in his squad who have produced double figures.

Argyle will hope that their attackers are on form once again when they host Exeter on Saturday, while all of their remaining games are crucial to their play-off chances.

Their respective goalscoring talents, alongside that of Oseni, demonstrate that Plymouth are on the brink of a serious transfer jackpot when it comes to eventually moving their strikers on.

Tolaj played for Vale in League Two just last term, and in the National League for Aldershot Town the season before that, but his Argyle exploits have shown that he is too good for League One.

Meanwhile, Tolaj, Pepple, and Oseni are 24, 23, and 22 years old, respectively, so all three forwards boast plenty of potential, making them even more attractive investments for other clubs this summer and beyond.

Plymouth Argyle will have more control over transfer destiny if they clinch promotion

Plymouth will be pleased by the fact that they can ultimately recoup healthy transfer fees for their talented attacking trio, but the Home Park club will also want to have the opportunity to have their say on their assets' future.

The fact that Tolaj and Pepple have already attracted high-profile interest from the likes of Celtic suggests that Cleverley will struggle to keep them in his squad without winning promotion to the Championship.

However, should Argyle clinch an immediate second-tier return via the play-offs, they will have more control over their players' futures, and can either retain them, or command an even better transfer fee.

Oseni has not produced the same level of consistency as either Tolaj or Pepple in League One, but his recent form has further boosted his side's top six credentials.

The 22-year-old scored twice against Barnsley, while also producing an assist, and Plymouth will need him to retain that kind of form during their run-in.

Ultimately, the Pilgrims are blessed to have three talented strikers amid their promotion surge, who can all be sold for handsome fees in a truly added bonus.
