Football League World takes a look at all the latest Plymouth Argyle news as the summer transfer window approaches
Plymouth Argyle are readying themselves for the 2026/27 League One campaign, having narrowly missed out on a third-tier play-off spot this term.
The Pilgrims released their official retained list on Thursday, which confirmed that Conor Hazard, Joe Edwards and Joe Ralls have all been offered fresh deals following the expiration of their respective contracts.
Meanwhile, Ayman Benarous and Callum Wright were among the nine players who have been released by the Devon outfit and will be representing different clubs next season, while the latter has been on loan at Wigan Athletic this term.
Plymouth are vying to strengthen their ranks this summer to help them land a Championship return by 2027, but Tom Cleverley's men may struggle to retain the services of star strikers Lorent Tolaj and Bim Pepple.
Football League World has taken a look at all the latest news emerging from Home Park.

Cleverley did well to take Plymouth to within a whisker of the League One play-off places this season, as Argyle were in the relegation zone midway through the campaign.
However, the former Watford boss is aware that he must guide the Devon club to the top six next term, which will require a successful summer transfer window.
Discussing his recruitment plans with Plymouth Live, the 36-year-old said: "What we are recruiting towards will be very consistent. Style of play, system. In terms of identifying what we need, who those people are, reaching out to their agents, that’s all wheels in motion.
"So we are as proactive as we can be. I think we are in a much stronger position than we were last year. The head coach is the head coach, the style of play is the style of play, the system is the system.
"I understand a lot more about how to be effective at this level and what that needs. We don’t have as many trying to get out the door, so we are in a really strong position.
"We have got good people in David (Fox, head of operations), Derek and Paul (Berne, CEO), driving it with myself, and I’m excited to attack the window."
Amid his intent to enjoy a strong summer transfer window, Cleverley has already set his sights on permanent deals for Alex Mitchell, Owen Dale, and Wes Harding, who have been on loan with Argyle this season.
Mitchell was a particularly key asset in the Plymouth defence this term, making 47 appearances across all competitions, including 40 League One outings.

As previously mentioned, Plymouth's attacking duo, Tolaj and Pepple, have already attracted plenty of admirers ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tolaj notched 18 goals in 33 League One appearances this season, while Pepple managed a similarly impressive return of 16 goals in 35 third-tier outings.
Speaking to Plymouth Live last week, though, Cleverley revealed he thinks it's 'realistic' for Argyle to retain both strikers.
However, Football Insider have subsequently revealed that Rangers have joined the race for Tolaj as former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl vies to bolster his attacking ranks.
The Gers can no longer finish above third in the Scottish Premiership following Sunday's 3-1 defeat to fierce rivals Celtic, leaving them with plenty of work to do in the transfer market to strengthen next season's title chances.
Tolaj could give them a more reliable source of goals, while Youssef Chermiti has been inconsistent.

Aside from the summer transfer window deals, one of the close-season aspects that many supporters of EFL clubs find exciting is the unveiling of their side's new kit.
According to Plymouth Live, Argyle's 2026/27 home strip will be released and available to buy on May 24, which is the same day that a charity match is being hosted at Home Park, with the new kit being worn by one of the participating teams.
The Pilgrims faithful will hope to see their side create plenty of happy memories in their next kit, as they battle for a place in the 2027/28 Championship.
