PM: Lille star still on Milan’s list as free transfer opportunity approaches

AC Milan have been strongly linked with a move for Jonathan David over the past couple of summer transfer windows, but a big opportunity is on the horizon.

Milan went looking for a new centre-forward during the window that has just closed and in the end they got two for the price of just over €13m. The first is Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid, who had his release clause triggered, and the second is Tammy Abraham who joined on loan from Roma.

While the management are keen not to block the pathway for Francesco Camarda and other young talents, if Abraham returns to the capital after his loan they will likely move again to sign another striker to take some of the pressure off Morata.

According to PianetaMilan, the interest in Jonathan David of Lille ‘has never waned’ and they are closely monitoring his situation in view of next summer, along with Serie A rivals Inter, Juventus and Napoli.

The 24-year-old has a deal which runs out at the end of the current season and so far he has shown no willingness to renew. Thus, Milan – who are on good terms with Roma and have almost certainly spoken with David’s entourage before – could try their luck.
