Mauricio Pochettino admits he is at his “worst feeling” as Tottenham manager, despite their best ever start to a Premier League season.
Spurs have won seven of their opening nine games but still sit outside of the top four, with Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all doing well.
The club were dealt another blow last week when it was announced their multi-million pound new stadium will not be ready in 2018, following a series of delays.
“The season so far?” he relayed the question to reporters. “It’s strange because my feeling is the worst feeling I’ve had in the five years that I’ve been here.
“It’s the worst. But it’s the best start ever for the club in the Premier League. It’s strange, no?
“It’s difficult to explain why. Many things happened in the summer, many things that make myself not in my best mood or best humour.”
“The circumstance that happened in the last years, I think the club is not focused completely in winning titles or winning games,” he admitted.
“When you are competing with sides, like we are in Champions League and Premier League, the most important thing is to fight in the same conditions as others.
“The club needs to be all focused in trying to win titles. Maybe when we move into the stadium, our project will give us similar resources.”
