Paul Pogba’s representatives are in talks with Monaco over an early termination of the midfielder’s contract, with his future at the club increasingly uncertain.

According to Sky Sports News, discussions are ongoing over ending the 33-year-old’s deal, which has entered its final year.

Pogba is currently recovering from a hamstring injury, but talks over his departure are understood to have been progressing independently of the latest fitness setback. Recent reporting has also indicated that negotiations had already been underway before the injury.

The France international joined Monaco in June 2025 after serving an 18-month doping suspension and made his debut for the club in November that year.

However, his return to regular football has been disrupted by fitness problems. He made only six appearances for Monaco last season and has now suffered another setback during pre-season.

Pogba’s representatives have already held initial discussions with clubs in MLS and the Middle East, according to Sky Sports News, with those talks expected to accelerate if an agreement over his Monaco contract is reached.

If the termination is completed, Pogba would become a free agent and could consider his next move without a transfer fee.

The midfielder’s Monaco spell has therefore lasted little more than a year, with the club’s initial hopes of helping him rebuild his career having been frustrated by limited availability.

For now, discussions between Pogba’s camp and Monaco remain ongoing, with the Frenchman’s immediate priority also understood to be continuing his rehabilitation from the hamstring injury.
