Said El Mala is currently one of the hottest topics on the transfer market. FC Bayern have also been keeping a close eye on the winger, but there are now signs of a clear development in the bidding for the U21 international.

1. FC Köln have clearly formulated their ideas in the transfer poker for Said El Mala. According to information from Sky, those responsible are demanding more than 40 million euros for the attacking player. Offers of exactly 40 million euros are therefore not enough to complete the deal.

This clear asking price has already had an impact on the market. Both FC Bayern and Brighton & Hove Albion are said to have shown interest in the 19-year-old. However, according to Sky, neither club is prepared to pay the asking price and would withdraw from negotiations if Cologne do not back down from their demands.

Internally, the Bundesliga club’s line is clear: the shooting star is set to leave the club in the summer and a sale is considered „100 percent“ agreed, according to Sky. At the same time, those responsible around sporting director Thomas Kessler want to choose the timing carefully in order to achieve the highest possible proceeds.

The winger’s strong performances in recent months have seen his market value rise steadily. With each new appearance, the attacking player has become more and more the focus of international clubs, which further strengthens Cologne’s negotiating position.

Although Brighton in particular have long been considered a hot candidate and are even said to have received a verbal commitment from the player, the financial conditions are currently causing a standstill.

FC Bayern have also been keeping a close eye on the Krefeld-born player, but have now apparently decided not to make a financially powerful move. While Cologne are still hoping for an offer above the 40 million mark, the future of Said El Mala remains unclear for the time being.
