30-year-old Polish international midfielder Zielinski has become an Inter player for next season.

The former Udinese and Empoli midfielder’s contract with Napoli ran out at the end of last month. Therefore, he was free to join on a free transfer.

Zielinski may not be arriving at Inter for a transfer fee. But that certainly does not mean that there won’t be expectations for him to live up to.

The Polish international has been one of the outstanding midfielders in Serie A for several seasons now.

Therefore, it is not exactly a mystery why Inter decided to sign Zielinski.

However, midfield was not exactly a position of need for the Nerazzurri last season.

The likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicolo Barella comprised an extremely formidable starting trio.

Then, there are the likes of younger midfielders Kristjan Asllani and Davide Frattesi. Both will be aiming to carve out a bigger place for themselves in the team next season.

Therefore, Zielinski has his work cut out for him as far as getting playing time next season.

Piotr Zielinski: “I’ll Give Everything To Make Inter Milan Midfield Even Stronger”

“I’m obviously very happy,” Zielinski said on his arrival at Inter.

“Because I’m joining one of the strongest teams in the world. It’s an honour for me.”

The Pole said that “I can’t wait to get started.”

“Inter’s midfield is already one of the big strengths of the team,” Zielinski noted. “But I’ll give everything to make my contribution and make the team even stronger.”

Zielinski said that facing Inter with other team was “Always a tough match.”

The 30-year-old called Inter “a well-organized team with a lot of quality.”

“They pressed very well,” Zielinski continued. “As soon as they lost the ball, they were ready to go after it to try and win it back again.”

“That was key, along with the overall quality of the team.”

As far as being the first ever Polish player to represent Inter, Zielinski said that “I’m very proud.”

“Inter is a great club, and I’ll give everything to achieve great results as the first Pole to wear this shirt.”
