Police were called after clashes between Gornal Athletic and Sutton United fans on the pitch following the Midlands Football League Division One play-off final at Garden Walk Stadium in Gornal on Saturday.

Sutton United won 2-1. ExpressAndStar.com reports that supporters entered the pitch to celebrate with players, and several clashes then broke out.

In several instances, punches were thrown. Flares were tossed onto the turf and then thrown back into the packed main stand, with more than 1,500 watching.

Police officers ran across the pitch to separate groups, with at least one police dog seen. It took at least 15 minutes to clear the pitch and move fans away.

A buoyant day ended in disorder.
