Matteo Politano admits Napoli could have done ‘something more’ against Juventus and says Antonio Conte has been working to ‘reignite enthusiasm.’
Juventus and Napoli collected a 0-0 draw at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday in Serie A Round 5.
“Surely we could have done something more in attack. We should have made the most of our few chances in the first half,” Politano told DAZN.
“We knew we’d struggle, as Juventus are a strong side, especially at home. We are happy we didn’t concede. We are a team that knows how to suffer.”
Politano had one of the best chances in the first half when Michele Di Gregorio pulled off a superb save shortly before the break. “It was a shot on target, and Di Gregorio made an extraordinary save,” the Italian winger admitted.
“The coach has tried to reignite enthusiasm,” said Politano.
“The group lost it, so he’s worked a lot on this aspect, as well as physically. Indeed, we still have a lot of work to do. This is a coach who wants the best from everyone.”
